Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay for education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student's course of study.
To apply for Work Study, start by emailing/contacting the department head for the department you hope to be employed by. The list below will let you know what departments are looking for student workers.
Once a department head agrees to hire you as a work study have them send an email to Misti Hardison, mhardison@tvcc.edu in the Financial Aid office so she can make sure you qualify and are eligible. Eligibility is based on your financial need as determined by your FAFSA.
If approved, your work study authorization forms will be ready for pick up in the Financial Aid office. You will also need to fill out your employment paperwork with TVCC's HR department before you can begin working. Be sure to communicate with your supervisor about your hours and responsibilities.
The Work-Study positions available each semester and who to contact to apply are listed below. Please note that most positions are for the Athens Campus; branch campus positions are noted as such.
