Frequently Asked Questions

 

As a TVCC student, you will access your online courses using Canvas (Our Learning Management System). We recommend that students only use the "Canvas" link at the top of the TVCC website to ensure they are using the correct Canvas system for our institution.

 

  • Reliable computer or laptop updated to the latest operating system.
  • Stable internet connection. The minimum internet speed recommended for Canvas is 512 kbps.
  • Webcam (built-in or external) for virtual classes and proctored exams.
  • Updated browser. (Canvas recommends Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.)

 

It is important to use the supported browsers when trying to access your online courses in Canvas to ensure the course content loads properly. Canvas recommends students use either Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

 

If you have Multifactor authentication set up on your account you will be able to reset your password by going to: www.PasswordReset.MicrosoftOnline.com enter your TVCC student email when prompted and follow the on-screen instructions. If you experience any issues please contact the TVCC IT Department for assistance.

 

We have created a TVCC Online Orientation to Canvas course that students can self-enroll in for a hands-on walk-through for Online Canvas courses. You can find this course under the “Help” tab at the bottom of your Canvas navigation bar. Please let us know if you need help enrolling in the course or if you have any questions about navigating Canvas.

 

  • Make sure you are using the recommended browsers to access Canvas. (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.)
  • Turn off Pop-up Blockers in your browser. This can block Canvas from loading pages and content correctly.
  • Make sure to periodically clear the Cookies and Cache in your browser to ensure it runs smoothly with no interruptions.
  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection and at least the minimum internet speed recommended for Canvas (512 kbps.)
