The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is the component of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS COC) accreditation process that affirms an institution’s commitment to the improved quality of student learning. The QEP is a plan that emerges from institutional assessment and focuses on the learning outcomes to improve and support the student learning environment while strengthening the mission of the institution.

- Reviews all data to determine areas that needed improvement in regards to student learning
- Selects one area that the institution as a whole most wants to see improved
- Develops goals (learning outcomes) that might improve student learning; and
- Creates a plan to accomplish the goals that were developed. This plan, in turn, supports the mission of the college and solidifies the college' commitment to the constant improvement of student learning.
