What is a QEP?
The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is the component of the Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS COC) accreditation process that affirms an institution’s commitment to the quality of student learning. The QEP is a plan that emerges from institutional assessment and focuses on learning outcomes and/or the environment supporting student learning and accomplishes the mission of the institution.  The activities to accomplish a successful QEP are:
  1. Review data to determine areas that needed improvement in regards to student learning;
  2. Select one area that the institution as a whole most wanted to see improved;
  3. Develop goals (learning outcomes) that might improve student learning; and
  4. Create a plan to accomplish the goals that were developed.  This plan, in turn, supports the mission of the college and solidifies the college' commitment to learning.
