Trinity Valley Community College

The Trinity Valley Community College Board of Trustees met in a special called session at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in the Board Room of the Orval Pirtle Administration Building with the following members present.

Mr. David Monk        Dr. Terry Eason        Mr. Jerry Stone
Dr. Clayton Gautreaux    Dr. Charlie Risinger        Mr. Ron Day
Mr. Michael Hembree    Mr. Steve Grant                                
Members not present:  

1.    Mr. Day opened the meeting with prayer.

2.    There were no public comments. 

3.    The following topics were discussed in the president’s report:
•    CCATT update
•    Fall Semester begins Monday, August 21
•    Update for upcoming sporting events 
•    Next Scheduled Board Meeting – August 28th

4.    Mr. Hembree moved, seconded by Mr. Monk, for the board to approve
the FY 2032-2024 budget as presented.  Motion carried unanimously. 

5.    Mr. Stone moved, seconded by Dr. Gautreaux, for the board to approve
The placement of the 2023-2024 tax rates on a future agenda as follows:
•    For the regular tax district, a rate of $.110990 per $100
•    For the branch campus maintenance district, a rate of $.043020 per $100
And to hold a public hearing on August 28, 2023, prior to adoption of the 
tax rates at the same meeting.  
Motion carried unanimously.

6.  Mr. Stone moved, seconded by Dr. Eason, for the board to table the 
     insurance quotes and options until the August 28, 2023, board meeting.
     Motion carried unanimously.

7.  Dr. Risinger moved, seconded by Mr. Day, for the board to adjourn the 
     meeting at 6:24 PM.  Motion carried unanimously.
