TITLE:  Court Reporting Program Instructor/Coordinator

 

REQUISITION NUMBER: 57

 

LOCATION:  Athens

 

MONTHS TO BE WORKED PER YEAR:  12 months

 

SALARY: Per TVCC Faculty Schedule

REPORTS TO: Appropriate Division Chair and/or Associate Vice President

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Hold an A. A. or an A.A.S. in Court Reporting. 

EDUCATION PREFERRED:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Experience in court reporting in a variety of professional settings.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

College teaching experience in court reporting preferred.

Ten (10) years of professional experience in court reporting preferred.

OTHER LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

Hold a certification as a Certified Registered Professional Reporter; Certified as a Texas Certified Shorthand Reporter; and continuing education requirements as promulgated by the Supreme Court of Texas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accomplish program learning objectives related to content, quality, and effectiveness of the curriculum.
  • Maintain program recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and retention of students.
  • Accomplish program results by advising, coaching, and mentoring students.
  • Serve as a resource to students.
  • Plans, monitors, and appraise program performance annually, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Implements and enforces program systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in the Master Plan of Evaluation and the Systematic Plan of Evaluation, if applicable.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work/instructional environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to regulations.
  • Ensure quality and customer service standards are adhered to as a program.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with the College plans and vision.
  • Maintain attendance records, grade reports for all classes in compliance with the registrar’s office.
  • Maintain academic standards established by the court reporting program.
  • Recommend instructional textbooks, supplies, and materials.
  • Attend faculty meetings, commencement, and other special meetings called by leadership.
  • Participate in professional organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned by appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality when required.
  • Abide by TVCC policies and procedures.
