Homecoming 2015
Homecoming 2015 celebrated the Cardettes’ 55th
year as an international symbol of HCJC/TVCC.
The weekend started with a rainout of Thursday night
and Friday morning activities, but that didn’t dampen
the spirits of alumni who attended a Friday evening
reception at the Athens County Club. During a
luncheon earlier that day, a plaque honoring Dr. Rip
Drumgoole was unveiled to announce the renaming
of the Cardinal softball field as W.P. “Rip” Drumgoole
field at Cain Park.
Saturday morning the Hall of Fame induction
ceremony and luncheon was held in the Student
Union Ballroom, where Eric Flowers, Shannon
Bobbitt, Ron Baugh, Neil Derrick, Yolanda Jones,
Chavis McCollister and Shauna Tubbs were inducted
as the 2015 class. The rain-soaked homecoming game
followed at Bruce Field where the Cardinals defeated
NE Oklahoma, 52-13. Pregame was highlighted by
Cardette alumni joining the 55th line to perform and
the crowning of the homecoming king and queen,
Terrance Jackson of Athens and Cynthia Oliveros of
Peoria, IL.
