Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

What is a CEU?

Print

TVCC provides Continuing Education Units on permanent transcript for courses offered through the Continuing & Workforce Education Department. The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized method of recording participation in a continuing education program that does not carry credit toward a college degree, but does meet established criteria for increasing knowledge and competencies and is often valued by employers.

One CEU is awarded for each 10 hours of participation in an organized, non-credit continuing education program. A student's credits are transcribed by their name and social security number/TVIN. Students may choose not to provide TVCC with social security number, but in such case transcripting will not be accurate and may not be available. TVCC does not release individual social security numbers of other personal or sensitive information.
