SGA named Texas Chapter of the Year

The Student Government Association at Trinity Valley Community College was selected Chapter of the Year by the Texas Junior College Student Government Association. The award was presented at the state convention in Addison last weekend.
 
The criteria for this award is based on college activities, community service, and regional activities. 
 
  “Our students did an amazing job representing the college,” said TVCC SGA advisor Cortney Curran. “ They volunteered for committees, wrote and passed constitutional amendments, and were incredibly encouraging to each other all along the way.
  “They brought home runner-up awards in Poetry competition and Community Service competition, as well as brought home third place finish in Song.” 
 
The TVCC SGA was recently named Region III Chapter of the  Year, making it eligible for the state award.
 
TVCC SGA officers for 2014-2015 are Hannah Feinsod, president; Albanee Martin, vice president; Kolby Meshack, secretary; Mahad Asim, treasurer; Terrance Jackson, parliamentarian; and Masaya Rowe, freshman representative.
