Texas Senate Bill 11 (campus carry), signed by Governor Greg Abbott in summer 2015, allows individuals with a License to Carry a Handgun the ability to carry a concealed handgun on Texas public community college campuses. This law goes into effect on August 1, 2017.

The Trinity Valley Community College Campus Carry Committee, chaired by the Vice President of Student Services and TVCC Police Chief, developed a policy in order to comply with this legislation. Please make yourself familiar with the TVCC board policy regarding campus carry.

Texas Senate Bill 11 and the corresponding TVCC board policy ONLY allow concealed carry of firearms by non-law enforcement licensed holders, so if you see a firearm displayed on campus, contact the TVCC Police Department at 903-675-6235 immediately.
