TVCC Awards $30k in Dual Pathways Scholarships

Trinity Valley Community College has awarded $30,000 in Murchison Foundation Dual Pathway scholarships to 100 students from 17 service area high schools and home schools for the fall 2017 semester. The new scholarships are the result of a grant from the Murchison Foundation in January of this year.
Students from Brownsboro, Canton, Cayuga, Crandall, Elkhart, Eustace, Kaufman, Kaufman Christian, Mabank, Malakoff, Martins Mill, Palestine, Rains, Scurry-Rosser, Trinidad, Wills Point and one Home School will receive $300 each to assist with the expense of tuition, fees and textbooks in the academic and technical dual credit areas.
TVCC Director of Dual Credit Kelley Townsend said, “More high school dual credit students will have a greater opportunity to not only shorten their time to an undergraduate degree, but also enhance their academic record and increase the likelihood of completing high school and persisting into college.”
