Spring Art Auction/Show Wraps Up

TVCC
The TVCC Spring Student Art Auction and Show was held April 25-30 at TVCC. More than 180 people signed in at the show to enjoy a wide variety of graphite drawings, ink paintings, acrylic, and more produced by Drawing, Painting, and Design students.
The auction raised more than $900 to help support the efforts of art students, and the top award went to Angie Weakley for her two beautiful watercolors and an encaustic piece. The second place award was a tie between Coty Sedlock and Hannah Hagle.
“I made the decision to return to Trinity Valley and pursue my passion for art last year, at the age of 30,” said Weakley, who plans to transfer to the University of Texas at Tyler this fall. “Words can’t express what a great experience it has been working under Mrs. Kirk’s guidance. I will forever be grateful and driven by the inspiration she and my fellow classmates have given me.”
“Thank you, thank you to Karla Bryan and the library staff for opening the building over the weekend and keeping an eye out,” said art instructor September Kirk. “Thank you to the custodial staff for set-up, to Brian Spurling and the Print Shop, to Tony Okrongly – a terrific work-study, and especially the students for all their hard work!”
