Drama Presents Little Women, the Broadway Musical

The Trinity Valley Community College Drama Department will present Little Women, the Broadway Musical, April 6-9 in the auditorium adjacent to the Orval Pirtle Administration Building on the Athens campus.
Based on Louisa May Alcott's American classic, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.
This timeless, captivating story is brought to life in this glorious score as it soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope and everlasting love – the sounds of a young America finding its voice. With a book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, this show is sure to charm young and old alike.
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday – Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free for TVCC students, faculty and staff. For more information, contact Craig Lee, TVCC Theater Director at 903-675-6290 or craig.lee@tvcc.edu.
