Presidential Search Advisory Committee Charge

Thank you for your willingness to commit your time to serve on the Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC). You have been selected to represent a specific constituent group within the college and assist in identifying the college’s next President. The primary mission of the PSAC is to deliver input regarding the strengths and weaknesses of candidates about meeting the qualifications identified in the job description consistent with the timeline provided by the Board Search Committee. The specific responsibilities are as follows:

  • Prior to, during, and after the search, keep all information concerning applicants and individuals who express interest in the position confidential, including, but not limited to, names, qualifications, where they currently work, and their background. Keep all information about the search process confidential, including search committee discussions and any written information related to the search. The only information that will be shared about the search process outside the search committee will be directed to the Board Search Committee or Director of Human Resources.
  • Complete Search Committee training and comply with the expectations set forth in the training.
  • Always conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Adhere to the timeline developed by the Board Search Committee related to the search.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled PSAC meetings.
  • Develop potential candidates for consideration.
  • Review applicant submittals of candidates determined to meet the required qualifications and provide the Board Search Committee with input regarding the strengths and weaknesses of candidates based on the job description utilizing the assessment tool provided.
  • Interview semi-finalists identified by the Board Search Committee. Provide timely input to the Board Search Committee regarding the strengths and weaknesses of candidates based on the job description utilizing the assessment tool provided.
  • At the direction of the Board search committee, assist the Board and/or administrative representative in any other appropriate tasks.
