TVCC Launches New Musical Theatre Program
Trinity Valley Community College is proud to announce a brand-new Musical Theatre Program, combining the talents of the Theatre and Music Departments to offer students an innovative and dynamic educational opportunity.
Set to launch in fall 2025, this program is a natural next step for the Fine Arts Program and is designed to prepare students for careers in musical theatre through comprehensive training in acting, singing, and dancing.
“This is a great opportunity,” TVCC Theatre Director Craig Lee expressed. “So many people love and enjoy musical theater, and we are proud to offer this opportunity. This is a great collaboration that allows us to combine multiple aspects of fine arts to create a well-rounded, engaging program.”
The program’s curriculum is designed to provide comprehensive training in acting, voice training, stage movement, singing, and dancing to develop “triple-threat performers,” Lee added. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in full-scale musical productions.
The Musical Theatre Program is open to all students, whether they have prior experience in theatre or are exploring the art form for the first time. TVCC is also proud to offer scholarship opportunities to support students in pursuing their passion for the performing arts.
“TVCC has a long-standing tradition of excellence in the arts,” shared Kristin Huggins, Division Chair of Fine Arts and Kinesiology and Director of Choral Music. “This program is the next step in elevating our offerings and supporting students as they pursue their dreams of performing on stage or working behind the scenes.”
