Morrison named Paragon New President Award Winner

President Dr. Jason Morrison

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society has selected Trinity Valley Community College President Dr. Jason Morrison for a Paragon Award for New Presidents.

Morrison was nominated for this award by members of the TVCC chapter of PTK and extremely grateful for the recognition.

“I truly appreciate the recognition from the Phi Theta Kappa National organization,” Morrison expressed. “I am honored to receive the Paragon New President Award.”

The Paragon Award for New Presidents recognizes new college presidents for their outstanding support of student success and for providing high-quality learning environments both inside and outside the classroom, according to ptk.org.

“This award is not about what I do as a president by what we do as educators in advancing education and leadership opportunities to students and creating pathways for success,” Morrison shared. “My passion is to create opportunities and play a small part in helping students reach their goals.”

PTK Honor Society President and CEO Lynn Tincher-Ladner shared in an email to Morrison that his nomination was based on his active and direct interest in PTK members.

“Your nomination was strong evidence that you are a student success champion for all students,” Tincher-Ladner shared. “They know your support for their learning. They know you are working hard to provide them with more opportunities and stronger pathways to completion, transfer, and employment. As a result, they have had a better college experience because of you.”

Morrison will be honored at the Phi Theta Kappa’s Annual Convention on April 4 through 6 in the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlanda, FL.
