Kirk Overmoe teaches piano class and private lessons for music majors.  He received his bachelor’s degree in instrumental and choral education from Mayville State University, a master’s degree in piano performance from the University of Northern Colorado and a second master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Texas in Tyler. 

Mr. Overmoe has taught jazz choir and directed jazz band at the University of North Dakota, and he was a choral assistant, band assistant and general music instructor at Devil’s Lake ISD in North Dakota from 1981-1993.  After moving to Texas, he became a choral assistant, band assistant and music instructor at Athens ISD from 1993-2009.  Mr. Overmoe has been with TVCC starting as an adjunct professor from 2009-2011 and has been a full-time professor since that time.
