Cardinal Cruise Days
Our Cardinal Cruise Days are one-day events where our newly admitted students are given the opportunity to cruise right through their student checklist and leave campus that day with schedule in hand. New students are invited to take their TSI exam, meet with an Advisor to set up their degree plan, and register for classes all in one easy day on campus. After a Cardinal Cruise Day, you will have your questions answered as well as your schedule ready to go, so you can approach the oncoming semester with confidence and ease knowing you have already accomplished all the necessary steps to start classes.
Please be aware Cardinal Cruise Days are for students who have completed and submitted their TVCC application and bacterial meningitis shot record. If you have not previously applied, please bring your filled out paper application and bacterial meningitis shot record with you the morning of your Cardinal Cruise.
What you'll need:
- Completed and printed Pre-Assessment Activity
- Valid photo ID
- $35 to cover testing fee
- Report to the Testing Center by 8 a.m.
Scores to the TSI Exam are given in real-time; once you are done testing, you'll be ready to meet with an advisor. Please visit the Testing Center for more information on the TSI exam, or for information on sharing your previous scores with TVCC. If you are unsure if you are exempt from or required to tests, please visit the Advisement Center.
All new students are required to meet with an advisor prior to registration to ensure we have you in the best degree plan to benefit your educational and career goals. This meeting also helps new students learn the ropes of registration, as we move into our final stop of the cruise.
Want to check out our degree pathways in advance? Head over and investigate what TVCC has to offer. We also have Career Coach available for students who are unsure of what they plan to do with their education; just create your account and take the Career Assesment to let Career Coach help you navigate the confusion and stress of picking a major.
Once you and your advisor have you in the correct degree pathway, and both feel comfortable that you are set up for student success, you will be registered for classes. Together you'll review course offerings and build the best schedule for you to start your first semester. Leaving with schedule in hand really helps eliminate worry and stress about the upcoming semester.
