The Trinity Valley Community Board of Trustees met in regular session at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 in the Board Room of the Orval Pirtle Administration Building in Athens, with the following members present.

Mr. Ray Raymond               Mr. Kenneth McGee           Mr. Ron Day

Mr. Jerry Stone                    Mr. Steve Grant                    Mr. David Monk

Members not present:         Mr. Homer Norville              Mrs. Paula Kimball

                                                Dr. Charlie Risinger

1.   Mr. McGee opened the meeting with prayer.

2.   There were no public comments.

3.  The FY 2019-20 budget was discussed.  The 2019-20 budget will be

      finalized and approved at the August 26, 2019 board meeting.

4.   Mr. Monk moved, seconded by Mr. Stone, to retain the current tax rate of $.13854 for the regular tax district as the tax rate to support the FY 2019-20 budget. Motion carried with Steve Grant opposing. 

      Mr. Grant moved, seconded by Mr. Monk to retain $.05 for the Palestine branch campus maintenance tax district to support the FY 2019-2020 budget.    Motion carried unanimously. 

      Tax rate hearings will be held on August 26, and September 9, 2019 with adoption at the September 23, 2019 board meeting. 

5.   Mr. Monk moved, seconded by Mr. Grant to table the executive session to discuss the president’s evaluation until the August 26, 2019 board meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.

6.   Mr. Monk moved, seconded by Mr. Day to adjourn the meeting at 7:57 pm.  Motion carried unanimously.
