Computer Science System Administrator OSA

Occupational Skills Awards (OSA) are locally approved sequences of courses designed to provide entry-level employment skills or industry certifications in an abbreviated timeframe. Continuing Education offers a non-credit pathway of mirrored courses for this OSA.

OSAs prepare students for information technology jobs and prepare students for capstone industry certification exams.

 

Systems Admin OSA - Microsoft Certification

 

Windows server courses prepare students for tasks such as installation and configuration, role and feature configuration, Hyper-V configuration, core network services, Active Directory administration, Group Policy management, Active Directory management, Group Policy configuration, file services management, DNS configuration, routing, and remote access configuration, and deployment management. Professional certifications from CompTIA and Microsoft are world-recognized information technology credentials sought by IT professionals and are often specified as required by companies seeking qualified new hire candidates.  Courses Required

Advanced configuration tasks required to deploy, manage and maintain a Window Server operating system infrastructure. Additional topics include fault tolerance, certificate services, and identity federation. Lab fee.

The fundamentals of managing and configuring network clients. Lab fee.

A study of administrative tasks needed to maintain a Windows Server operating system including user and group management, network access, and data security. Topics include how to implement, configure and manage Group Policy infrastructure, Group Policy objects (GPOs) using links, security groups, WMI filters, loopback processing, preference targeting, and troubleshooting policy application. Lab fee.

Design, implement and support a network directory infrastructure in a multi-domain environment. Lab fee.
