Beginning Freshmen: For students who are brand new to college.

1. Have you submitted your application to TVCC?  You can apply here.

2. Have you provided the Registrar's Office with your Bacterial Meningitis Documentation?

3. Does the Registrar's Office have your High School Transcript (with date of graduation) or confirmation of your GED?

4. Have you submitted TSI test scores?  TVCC requires students on the majority of our degree plans to be TSI complete.  The TSI test, given at three of our campuses, is a placement test that lets us know if a student needs a little extra instruction in reading, writing, or math, before they are fully prepared to take on some of our college level courses.  You may qualify for exemption based on other testing scores.  If you are unsure if you need to test, or if your scores have made it in, call 903-675-6350.  Otherwise, click here for a current TSI testing schedule.

5. Do you know what career path you want to go down?  All TVCC student's are put into a degree plan based on what they'd like to do with their career.  If you are unsure, we have career surveys to help you get a better idea.  If you're still unsure, that's okay too!  We can always change your major later on.

If all of these things have been checked of your list, you are ready to enroll in classes.

Transfer Students: For students coming to TVCC from another college/university, who plan to stay with us for more than one semester.

1. Have you submitted your application to TVCC?  You can apply here.

2. Have you provided the Registrar's Office with your Bacterial Meningitis Documentation?

3. Does the Registrar's Office have your OFFICIAL transcripts?  We require all transcripts to be submitted OFFICIALLY at least one week prior to class enrollment, as it typically takes about a week to evaluate transcripts so we can apply those credits for you.  Also, these transcripts will provide us with your TSI status, which is necesary before you can enroll.

4. Is TVCC aware of your TSI status?  This status is used
to let us know if a student needs a little extra instruction in reading, writing, or math, before they are fully prepared to take on some of our college level courses.  If you are unsure if your scores have made it in, or if they are even required in your circumstance, call 903-675-6350.  If you would like to take the test on campus with us, click here for a current TSI testing schedule.

5. Do you have a major in mind?

If all of these things have been checked of your list, you are ready to enroll in classes.

Reverse Transfer Students:  For students interested in attending TVCC just for a few credits that they plan to transfer back to their primary institution.

1. Have you submitted your application to TVCC?  You can apply here.

2. Have you provided the Registrar's Office with your Bacterial Meningitis Documentation?  This is mandatory for all students.

3. Does the Registrar's Office have your OFFICIAL transcripts?  We require all transcripts to be submitted OFFICIALLY at least one week prior to class enrollment, as it typically takes about a week to evaluate transcripts so we can apply those credits for you. This step may seem unimportant, but many classes have pre-requisites to them, or require TSI completion, so it is best to get us OFFICIAL transcripts as soon as you can.

5. Does TVCC have you in a degree plan?  It may seem silly for just a few reverse transfer credits, but by putting you into a degree plan TVCC is ensuring that it can best serve your needs should anything change.

If all of these things have been checked of your list, you are ready to enroll in classes.

Returning / Former Students:  For students who have previously attended TVCC, and are returning to complete their degree, or work on a new one, after extended absence.

1. Have you submitted your application to TVCC?  Anytime a student has spent a long semester (Spring/Fall) absent from classes, you must resubmit an application.  Graduates returning for any reason must also re-apply.  You can apply here.

2. Have you provided the Registrar's Office with your Bacterial Meningitis Documentation?

3. Does the Registrar's Office have your OFFICIAL transcripts from any other schools attended during your absence?  We require all transcripts to be submitted OFFICIALLY at least one week prior to class enrollment, as it typically takes about a week to evaluate transcripts so we can apply those credits for you.

5. Do you need to update/change your degree plan?

Once you have been over this checklist, you are ready to enroll!
