TVCC students to elect a new queen

Trinity Valley Community College students return to the polls Tuesday to select a new queen.

Homecoming 2005 is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1, and students in Athens must select this year’s Homecoming Queen from five finalists, having whittled the slate of nominees down from 15 last Tuesday.

TVCC campuses in Terrell, Palestine and Kaufman have already selected queens to represent them. They will all be crowned in a pre-game ceremony scheduled for 2:40 p.m. at Bruce Field.

Homecoming activities begin with a carnival on Thursday, Sept. 29, and full day of activities are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1, including an Alumni Association breakfast at 9 a.m., a pep rally at 11 a.m., alumni luncheon featuring Cardette alumni at 11:30 a.m., the pre-game ceremony and, of course, the game scheduled for 3 p.m.

For information or reservations for the breakfast or luncheon, call 903-670-2620 or e-mail dhubbard@tvcc.edu.
