Electrical Line Worker
Electrical line workers are in high demand, both locally and nationally, with many career opportunities available for those who possess these skills. The Electrical Line Worker program is offered through TVCC's Workforce Education Division, and is a 22-week certification course running two (2) consecutive semesters with a certification of completion awarded. TVCC, along with Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative (TVEC), many independent school districts and industry partners form a strong partnership to offer this exceptional workforce training opportunity.
The Electrical Line Worker program gives students hands-on skills and knowledge training in electric power generation, transmission and distribution along with constructing, maintaining and operating power grids, working with the industry's safety equipment, setting climbing poles, and understanding industry projects, conditions and work locations.
At the conclusion of this training program, graduates will attain an Electrical Line Worker Certificate of Completion and an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Certification. Training for this program is a combination of face-to-face classroom lecture, indoor/outdoor lab facilities and field-training areas.
