FS - Fire Protection Technology AAS

This degree is designed for students interested in becoming a professional firefighter or fire protection technician. Upon completion, students are prepared for the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Fire Officer 1, Basic Fire Inspector and Basic Fire/Arson Investigator certifications after successfully completing a TCFP skills examination. Graduates of any Texas Fire Commission certified Basic Firefighter Academy who successfully pass the State Certification Exam and complete at least 12 semester hours in the AAS Fire Protection Technology degree may be awarded 12 semester hours of credit through articulation.
