Parking
Student Parking + Traffic Rules
- All TVCC campuses are permit‑only.
- Parking and driving on campus is a privilege, not a right.
- Students must display a valid TVCC parking permit at all times.
- Students receive one free permit per academic year; additional permits cost $20.
- Permits are non‑transferable and expire December 31 of every even‑numbered year.
Displaying Your Permit
- Permanent permits must be placed on the lower left rear window.
- Temporary permits must be displayed on the driver‑side dashboard.
- Altered, taped, or improperly displayed permits are invalid and may result in citations or loss of parking privileges.
- Only one permit per vehicle is allowed.
Student Permit Types
- Blue – South Hall + West Hall residents (assigned lots only)
- Orange – Northeast, Northwest + Cardinal Hall residents (assigned lots only)
- Brown – Commuter students
- Yellow – Temporary permits (short‑term use)
Where Students May Park
- Students must park only in areas matching their permit color.
- Between 5:00 PM–12:00 AM, student permits may park in green or white curb areas.
- White curbs are visitor‑only 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.
- Yellow curbs, police spaces, handicap spaces, loading zones, and fire lanes are always restricted.
- Temporary parking is limited to 20 minutes where posted.
- Event parking may allow permit‑free parking but only in designated event areas.
Traffic + Enforcement
- Campus speed limit is 20 mph unless posted otherwise.
- All traffic signs and barricades must be obeyed.
- Improper parking, blocking access, or parking off designated areas is prohibited.
- Violations may result in:
- Citations and fines
- Towing or impoundment
- Loss of parking privileges
- Disciplinary action
- Withholding of grades, transcripts, degrees, or refunds
- Five or more unpaid violations may lead to college disciplinary sanctions.
Pedestrian Rules
- Pedestrians must obey traffic signals.
- Pedestrians have the right‑of‑way in crosswalks and on sidewalks.
- Drivers must yield; pedestrians must yield when crossing outside crosswalks.
