* Must have four of the five marked prerequisites before starting SRGT courses - PSYC 2301 may be used as a
prerequisite instead of 2314 but both are required for the AAS degree. The fifth prerequisite must be taken
concurrently with the fall surgical technology courses if not already completed
** Choose from one of the following courses: ENGL 2322, 2323, 2327,2328, 2332, 2333; HUMA 1301;
PHIL 2306; SPAN 2311, 2312; ARTS 1301, 1303, 1304; DRAM 1310, 2366; MUSI 1306,1307, 1310.
The Certificate of Completion for Surgical Technology consists of all of the SRGT courses plus the 5 marked
general education courses for a total of 43 semester credit hours.
After August 1, 2021, the Surgical Technology Certificate will no longer be offered. All students must apply for the
associate of applied science degree.
