The grade of “IP” (In Progress) may only be given to students enrolled in
developmental courses and is non-punitive. The IP grade requires the student to re-
enroll in the developmental class until the student’s skills reach the level needed to
succeed in college-level courses.
A student who officially withdraws or drops from one or more courses will receive
the grade of W if such withdrawal is completed by the deadline specified in the
college calendar. Please be aware there may be financial aid and scholarship
ramifications when dropping a class. Students may NOT withdraw or drop a
developmental course. Furthermore, the instructor does not have the power to
withdraw or drop a student from a developmental course. All developmental
students will receive a grade of A, B, C, IP or F. Please check with the appropriate
office before you withdraw.
