Mission:

The main goal of the Trinity Valley Community Workforce Education Division is to provide premier workforce training resources for students, local business and industry and other organizations in the five county TVCC service area.

Overview:

TVCC Workforce Education provides the traditional credit programs (many of which can be completed online) as well as skilled classroom/lab program offerings. In addition, TVCC can assess, design, and deliver customized affordable training for your business or organization through our Adult & Continuing Education department. If you are thinking about starting a new business, please consider using the free services offered by our Small Business Development Center.

Students, regardless of their gender are encouraged to look at all workforce programs. Many students find rewarding careers in what would be termed non-traditional jobs. As examples, hospitals and other health care employers need more male nurses. Women have been found to make excellent welders. Important aspects to consider when choosing a career are finding a career that you enjoy doing and one that you can earn the kind of living that you would expect.

TVCC provides many services to workforce education students including childcare reimbursement, work-study jobs, tutoring and computer labs. Because of the Perkins Federal Vocational Act, the college is able to provide these services as well as state-of-the-art equipment and training materials to help you prepare for your chosen career. The college also participates in TWC programs such as WIA (Workforce Investment Act). High school articulation of courses are provided through the ATC (Advanced Technical Credit) and dual credit (college and high school credit) is offered in many area high schools. Please feel free to contact our office for more information on any of these services.

Admissions:

New admission requirements state that students entering college must have either a high school diploma or a GED (General Equivalency Diploma). For those who have not completed their high school education, TVCC provides free GED preparation classes through the Adult Education Department.

Finally, and most importantly, TVCC faculty and staff are here to help you succeed in your chosen career field. You will find instructors here that not only have educational experience but also have worked in business and industry. They understand what is needed to help you succeed.
