POLICY OF RIGHTS
The purpose of this policy is to secure at the first possible level prompt and equitable resolution of student complaints,
including those alleging discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age or
disability. If the complaint involves a problem with an instructor or a grade, the student shall discuss the matter in
conference with the instructor of record in an attempt to resolve the dispute. TDCJ students should direct all TVCC
correspondence, questions, concerns and problems through the TVCC enrollment coordinators at their unit of
assignment. Responsibility for disposition lies with the TVCC Associate Vice President of Correctional Education.
GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE
The purpose of this policy is to secure at the first possible level prompt and equitable resolution of student complaints,
including those alleging discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age or
disability. If the complaint involves a problem with an instructor, the student shall discuss the matter with the
instructor or TVCC employee by correspondence or conference.
If the outcome of the conference is not to the student’s satisfaction, the student has 15 calendar days to submit a
written complaint that includes a statement of the complaint and any evidence in its support with the student’s
signature and date to the Associate Vice President of Correctional Education.
