Chemistry

I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Chemistry and Physics.  During my time at WKU, I did research in physical chemistry and also spent a summer doing research at University of Florida.  After graduating, I attended University of Tennessee - Knoxville and earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics.  While at UTK, I not only did research at the university but also at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.  My undergraduate and graduate research involved Laser Induced Fluorescence of Host-Guest Compounds, Adsorption Thermodynamics and modeling of MgO surfaces, and synthesis of aluminum oxide films having pore sizes in the nanometer range. While I do have experience doing research, my passion is science education and I want to help students succeed in not only their future endeavors but also help them build a foundation of scientific knowledge that makes them successful in their career goals. I started teaching at TVCC in 2009 and teach Introductory Chemistry, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physical Science.  You can contact me at [email protected] or 903-670-2669.
