Texas Senate Bill 11 (campus carry), signed by Governor Greg Abbott in summer 2015, allows individuals with a License to Carry a Handgun the ability to carry a concealed handgun on Texas public community college campuses. This law goes into effect on August 1, 2017.
Trinity Valley Community College will be hosting a series of Campus Carry Town Hall meetings on each of our four campuses to educate, open dialogue and gain valuable input from our employees, students and community members. This information will be shared with the Campus Carry Committee and aid in development of the TVCC campus carry policy recommendation that will be presented to the board of trustees for approval.
