The Trinity Valley Community College Science Club is hosting its 2nd Annual Forensic Workshop on Friday, Feb. 13, from 9 a.m.-4 pm. in the Gibbs Academic Building.

In conjunction with the Criminal Justice Department’s Donna Bennett and Chief Newby from TVCC Campus Police, we will be leading students through a mock-up crime.  This year’s crime is an aggravated assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (a carjacking).

Faculty members participating this year are September Kirk, Kelly Driskell, Amber Barnes, James Reed, and Cade Daniels.

In the morning, the students will view the video footage of the crime and learn to work with software to produce a sketch of the perpetrator. Then, in the afternoon, we will be interviewing our suspects and performing lab analysis on hair and gunshot residue.

The Science Club extends an invitation to all to come and watch the event.
