Beef Cattle Team Scores Record-Setting Win at Houston
Trinity Valley Community College’s Beef Cattle Show Team made an “extremely successful” showing at the 2018 Houston Livestock Show. In the Open Charolais Division held February 28, the team won their 16th first place Good Herdsman Award in the last 18 years.
TVCC MS LIBERTY 1616 p, shown by Cody Oden of Leona, was named Reserve Intermediate Female Champion; TVCC MS JANET 1603 P, shown by Emma Lawson of Brownsboro, was named Senior Female Champion and TVCC SURE VALUE 1629 P was named Reserve Senior Bull Calf Champion. Other awards included TVCC MS MIKENNA 1609 P, shown by Luke Dingler of Brownsboro, Reserve Senior Female Champion; 007 ROUND UP 1635, shown by Erica Vanderslice of Kaufman, Reserve Junior Bull Champion and TVCC MS JANET 1712 P, shown by Jodee Crane of Silsbee, third placed in Junior Heifer Calves.
Show Team Coach Marc Robinson commended the team for their hard work. Their five division level titles “set an all-time record for our team competing at Houston,” he said.
