Dr. King Speaks to Cedar Creek Chamber

TVCC
TVCC President Dr. Jerry King was the guest speaker at the Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce monthly membership meeting on Thursday. King told members of the chamber there are many benefits to attending a community college such as TVCC.
“This is one of our campuses that just keeps growing,” said King of the Terrell campus. “We currently have a waiting list to enroll in our Registered Nursing program.”
He said with the purchase of the former Renaissance Hospital in Terrell, TVCC has future plans to renovate the building for a new Health Science Center. TVCC will eventually move, and expand the nursing program in Kaufman to the newly-renovated Terrell facility.
On TVCC’s dual credit program, “We have 28 high schools in our five-county service area offering a dual credit program,” he said. “Thirty-five percent of our enrollment is dual credit.”
He mentioned other reasons to attend a community college are affordability, grant and scholarship availability and online classes.
