1. An acknowledgement that the institution signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

TVCC signed the Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students Agreement and Assurance to provide Emergency Aid Grants to Students on 4/14/2020 and received the GAN agreement and funds on 4/24/2020. No less than 50% of the funds will be used for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

2. The total amount of funds that the institution will receive or has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
 
TVCC will receive $932,620 for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students on 4/24/2020. As of 8/24/20 $628,200 have been drawn from G5, the Department of Education's grants management system.

3. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of the date of submission (i.e., as of the 30-day Report and every 45 days thereafter).

The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants awarded to students as of 8/24/20 is $932,600.

4. The estimated total number of students at the institution eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.

The total number of students at TVCC eligible to participate is 5,444.

5. The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.

The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant as of 8/24/20 is 704.

6.  The method(s) used by the institution to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act. 

Students enrolled in the spring 2020 semester, on March 23, 2020, were invited to make application for grant funds. Students must meet Title IV eligibility requirements to receive emergency funds.  The application requests the student to identify the reason(s) for need of assistance.  The submitted applications will be reviewed by TVCC Financial Aid Office to ensure the students applications are complete and meet eligibility requirements.  Approved applications will be awarded on a first-come-first-received basis, until all funds are awarded.
    
Award amounts:
1.     Enrolled in 12 or more hours:    $500
2.     Enrolled in 9 to 11 hours:    $400
3.     Enrolled in 1 to 8 hours:    $300

Students that do not meet eligibility for grant funds are:  TDCJ students, dual credit students, international students, undocumented students, students taking all online classes prior to March 23, continuing education students and students who withdrew prior to March 23, 2020.

7.  Any instructions, directions, or guidance provided by the institution to students concerning the Emergency Financial Aid Grants.

Students were invited to make application for emergency funds through an electronic application using internal and external communication avenues. Students were made aware of the grant via TVCC email accounts, Canvas, social media, TVCC website, campus marquee, local newspapers and the TVCC alert system encouraging students to check their TVCC email for related information.
