We are having dorm students sign a waiver/release long with the housing contract that indicates the student understands that they should follow all recommended CDC protocols and other institutional measures that are allowed in order to protect themselves and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

CDC and social distancing guidelines will be recommended in all dormitories in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

TVCC is encouraging everyone on campus - including employees and contract workers - to wear masks or face coverings when in the presence of others and when social distancing is not possible. Please note that TVCC is not allowed by the State of Texas to mandate masks and face coverings.

Masks and face coverings are not required when students are in their rooms. While masks and face coverings cannot be mandated, TVCC encourages its campus residents to discuss with their roommates their expectations regarding masks and face coverings at the start of the semester. If a dorm student, or any student, should develop COVID-19 symptoms, we are encouraging the wearing of masks or face coverings until a healthcare professional can be consulted and/or the student can be relocated if availability allows.

Masks or face coverings are not required, but encouraged, while in common areas and hallways.

TVCC takes the health and safety of its students and employees very seriously. Students found violating enforceable COVID-19 and other policies that put the health and safety of the students and employees will face the possibility of being removed from the dorm for the remainder of the semester.
