FOUNDATION NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS
All Foundation nursing scholarships are awarded by the provost of the Health
Science Center. Applications must be received by April 15 for fall and November 1
for spring.

Name of Scholarship
Scholarship Requirements
Dr. Edward I. and Nettie Hall Scholarship
1. High School Graduate or candidate for graduation with a
GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference is given to graduates of
Kaufman High School
2. Be accepted into the ADN program
William O. and Ora Mae Miller Scholarship
1. Financial need
2. Enrolled in ADN program
3. Demonstrated academic promise
4. 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher
Weldon Ford Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Must be a non-smoker willing to promote awareness of
cystic fibrosis
Mary Hardy Nursing Scholarship
Must be enrolled in second semester freshman nursing
courses
W. R. Kinabrew Nursing Scholarship
1. Students chosen on basis of need and ability
2. Must be enrolled in ADN nursing program
3. Must be a resident of the TVCC tax district
Health Related Fields Endowed Academic Scholarship
1. Enrolled in a health occupations program at TVCC
2. Must live in the TVCC service area
Willie Mae Smith Endowed Nursing Scholarship
1. First time/full time TVCC student who lives in the TVCC
service area
2. Maintain full time status with 2.5 GPA
3. Application deadline is July 1
4. Three letters of reference and a typed essay are required.
Dr. Ray A. Hargrove-Huttel Memorial Scholarship
1.
Must be enrolled in the Level III or IV courses of the ADN
program.
2.
Must demonstrate financial need and be in good
academic standing (GPA over 3.0)
3.
Preference will be given to graduates of Terrell High
School
Lená Pettiet Memorial Nursing Scholarship
1. A current TVCC student or a High School Senior pursuing a
degree in Nursing at TVCC from Grand Saline, Fruitvale, Van
Zandt County or other school as donor agrees.
2. The scholarship is also open to a student in the Paramedic
to RN program.
3. The scholarship may not be used for any completely
online classes.
4. The student must have a 3.0 grade point average to apply
for scholarship.
