TEACHING
The Associate of Arts Degree (AAT), teaching major is a specialized degree designed for
students desiring to enter the teaching profession. It provides students seeking a
baccalaureate degree and teacher certification a fully transferable degree to Texas state
universities that have educator preparation programs.
Three AAT areas of specialization are offered:
1.
4-8, EC-12 special education
2.
7-12, EC-12 other than special education
3.
EC-6
*University requirements into teaching programs vary. Students are encouraged to contact the
intended transferring university for specific degree requirements.
4-8 & EC-12 SPECIAL EDUCATION AAT
4-8, EC-12 Special Education,
complete core curriculum AND requires:
MATH 1350, MATH 1351 or equivalent (3-6 SCHs)
Additional science beyond the core curriculum may be required.
