STAFF BIOGRAPHIES

DANCE CAMP STAFF:
Bethany Anguiano - Bethany is from Dallas, TX and has been dancing for 9 years. She graduated with High Honors and in the Top 10% of her class at Bryan Adams High School. While at Bryan Adams she was served as a Lieutenant and Captain of the B.A. Belles. At TVCC, Bethany was a Cardette from 2008-2010 where she was an Officer, Freshman Representative, Cardette of the Week, two-year Cardette Showgirl member, college assistant to Gino Johnson, and voted Best All Around Dancer. She also does various choreography and judging for schools and studios in Dallas, Mesquite, Nacogdoches, Carrolton, Weatherford, Houston, and Navasota. Bethany graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Education and Health Science. While at SFA, she was a two year member and Captain of the SFA Pom Squad.  She has spent the last 2 years dancing for the Texas Legends Basketball team in Frisco, was selected to perform at the NBA All Star D-league game in New Orleans and was also a group leader for the squad. Bethany has been a training camp candidate and finalist for the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Dancers and plans to continue dancing in the future. Bethany is currently working for the Dallas Independent School District at Bryan Adams High School where she is charge of the Kellie Spirit Dancers, DanceVersity Hip Hop Crew and Assistant Director for the B.A. Belles.
 
Taryn Taylor - Taryn attended Humble High School were she was a member of the Wldcatdet Dance Team and served as Colonel her senior year. Following high school Taryn was a Cardette from 2004-2006. While at TVCC Taryn served as a Cardette Lieutenant and a member of the Cardette Showgirls. She was voted Most Outstanding Cardette Showgirl her freshman and sophomore year. Taryn later graduated Cum Laude from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelors in Dance and Secondary Education. Taryn currently teaches dance at Cypress Falls High School and is the Assistant Director of the award winning Sky Dancers! Taryn also serves as Treasurer on the Executive Board of Directors for Texas Dance Educators Association.
 
Jaimee Bowles – Jaimee is from Burleson, Texas where she graduated from Burleson High School with honors and over a hundred community service hours. Jaimee was a member of the Elk Strutters Drill Team where she had the opportunity to serve as Spirit Leader her sophomore year, Lieutenant her junior year and Captain her senior year. While serving as Captain, she was also a solo finalist for DanceLine. At TVCC, Jaimee was a 2012-13 Cardette Captain, 2012-2013 TVCC Student Leader of the Year, 2011 Cardette Freshman Representative, 2011 Cardette of the Week, a 2 year member of Cardette Showgirls, a member of Student Senate, a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society, and a 2012 College Assistant for Texas Dance Educators Association.  In May 2013, Jaimee received her Associate’s Degree from TVCC. Jaimee is continuing her education at Stephen F. Austin State University; she was on the Pom squad for the 2013-2014 year. For the 2014-2015 year Jaimee was a Captain for the Pom squad and Jack Attack. Jaimee is also a 2015 National Champion for NDA Division 1 Hip Hop. Jaimee plans to major in Science while pursuing a Master’s in Education at Stephen F. Austin State University. 

Laura Buckner - Laura attended South Grand Prairie High School where she was a member of the Chey-Anne Dance Team. Following high school, Laura was a Cardette from 2004-2006, serving as Freshman Representative and Captain. During her years at TVCC, Laura took part in Student Senate, the Cardinal Beauty Pageant, and was a member of the Cardette Showgirls for 2 years. While on Cardettes, she received Cardette of the Year, Most Admired Cardette, Most Dedicated Cardette, Best Showmanship, and Most Outstanding Showgirl. Laura also had the honor of traveling to Branson, Virginia, and Ireland representing the Cardettes. After leaving Trinity Valley, Laura received her Bachelor's Degree from Texas Christian University. She has been a guest choreographer and judge for various high schools across Texas and has been a DYHOC staff member since 2006. She is currently in her 7th year as the Director of the Weatherford Blue Belles and Tison Allstars, and serves as a Dance Instructor for Showtime International.
 
Sarah Cadungug – Current Assistant Choreographer/Recruiter for the TVCC Cardettes. Sarah is from Bedford, Texas where she graduated from Trinity High School back in 2003 and was a member of the Troy-Ann’s Drill Team from 2001-2003 and had the opportunity to serve as Captain her senior year. Sarah grew up studio dancing and competing, studying ballet, modern, tap and jazz. After high school she attended McLennan Community College from 2003-2005 where she earned her Associates Degree in Science and danced on the dance team where she served as Captain her sophomore year. From 2005-2007 Sarah attended Stephen F. Austin State University where she received her B.S. in Dance/Secondary Teaching and her minor in Kinesiology. While attending SFA she danced on the Pom Squad and served as Captain her senior year. After college from 2008-2011 Sarah traveled the world and worked on Holland America Cruise line as a professional dancer for different cruise ships. In 2011-2013 Sarah went back to SFA where she earned her Master’s in Kinesiology and was the Assistant Coach for the SFA Pom squad and Jack Attack dance teams. After graduating with her Masters from SFA in May of 2013 she has now found her dream job working with the Cardettes. Sarah has worked with other companies such as Marching Auxiliaries and National Dance Alliance as well teaching camps to dance teams throughout the United States. Above all, she is honored to be working with and part of the amazing Cardette family, and most proud to be the wife to husband PJ.
 
Katherine Dean - Katherine is from Bridge City, Texas, where she was a member of the award winning Bridge City Strutters. She has been dancing for 20 years and was a member of the X-Treme dance team for three years at Lorna Badon School of Fine Arts. At TVCC, Katherine was a Cardette Captain, Cardette Freshmen Representative, Cardette of the Week, voted Most Dedicated Cardette, Outstanding Freshman, Cardette of the Year, two-year Cardette Showgirl, Phi Theta Kappa and Student Senate member, recipient of the distinguished President’s Award and was a Cardette Graduate Assistant.  This is Katherine’s 6th year as DYHOC Staff. She graduated Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and was a member of the Texas Tech Dance Company and Chi Tau Epsilon Dance Honor Society.  Currently, Katherine is a dance teacher and Director for the Sam Houston High School Tex-Annes in Arlington, TX.

Dutchess Garcia - Dutchess attended MacArthur High School in Irving, TX where she was?a member?of the MacArthur Cardettes and was Captain from 2005-2006. Dutchess was a TVCC Cardette from 2006-2008 where she was a member of the Cardette Showgirls and a Lieutenant. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and minor in Spanish from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. Dutchess was a 2 year member of the Sam Houston State University Orange Pride Dance Team and danced for the Texas World Dance Company's Polynesian Review. She was also a member of the Chi Tau Epsilon Dance Honor Society. Dutchess was a Texas Legends Dancer for three seasons as well as a two year group leader.?Dutchess is a two time NBA D-League All-Star Dancer performing in Houston, TX and New Orleans, LA. She? has been a dance Instructor at Next Step Dance Performing Arts Center in Frisco and for Studio 3 Dance in Plano, TX. Dutchess performed with?Dallas Dance Company during their 2013 season. Dutchess?earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Dance from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX.?This is?her 8th year serving as a DYHOC staff member. Dutchess is currently a dance teacher and dance company director at Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, TX.
 
Betty Hernandez - Betty is a former graduate of North Mesquite High School where she was a 3 year member of the Pacesetters Drill Team serving as JV Drill Instructor her senior year. At TVCC, Betty was a 2 year member of Student Senate, Cardettes, and Cardette Showgirls. She graduated from University of Texas at Arlington where she was a member of the UTA Dance Team, serving as Captain her last year. Betty is currently a dance teacher and Assistant Drill Team Director for Sam Houston High School. This will be her 6th year as a DYHOC staff member. 
Betty Hernandez- Betty attended North Mesquite High School where she was a 3 year member of the Pacesetters Drill Team serving as JV Drill Instructor her senior year. After graduating from TVCC in 2008, Betty transferred to University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. She was a member of the UTA Dance Team, serving as Captain her last year.  This is her 7th year serving as a DYHOC staff member. Betty is currently a dance teacher and Assistant Drill Team Director for Sam Houston High School but most importantly, she is the wife to Eric and mother to Sophia.
 
Darla Mansfield - Darla is the current Director/Choreographer for the TVCC Cardettes. She has been the Cardette Director since 2000 and a Showtime International Dance/Drill Team Company staff member since 1991. Darla has choreographed for the inaugural Heart Of Dallas Bowl, TicketCity Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Holiday Bowl, Alamo Bowl, Hollywood Christmas Parade, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Branson, Missouri’s Veteran’s Week Festivities, CSI International in Zurich, Switzerland and for Casa Manana Musicals in Fort Worth, Texas and the Henderson County Performing Arts Center in Athens, TX. She is proud to be a former TVCC Cardette Freshman Representative, Cardette Captain and 1991 TVCC President’s Award recipient. She was also Captain/Choreographer of the Louisiana Tech University High Tech Dancers, Lieutenant of the Rockwall High School Stingerettes, a Recognized actor/combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors and musical theatre performer. Darla is currently listed in the Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, Who’s Who Among Americans, and was named one of the 2002, 2007, & 2009 DTDA Top Ten Drill Team Directors of America. Above all, she is most proud to be the wife to husband Ryan and mother to future Cardette Escort Anthony.

Nichole Moisan - Nichole is from Carrollton, TX. She attended Creekview High School where she was a member of the Cheval Drill Team, serving as Junior Class Representative and then Captain her senior year. Nichole was a Cardette from 2007-2009 and is a former Cardette Freshman Representative, Cardette Captain, and two year Cardette Showgirl. While she was a Cardette, she received awards of Most Outstanding Freshman, Best Overall Dancer, High Kick Award, Most Admired Cardette, and Cardette of the Year. While at TVCC, she was also involved in Student Senate and Phi Theta Kappa. After graduating TVCC with a 4.0, she transferred to Southern Methodist University to major in Math Education. She was a two year member of the three time national champion SMU Pom Squad. Nichole is currently in her  4th year as an Algebra teacher and the Troyann Drill Team Director at Newman Smith High School.  She is also a Showtime International Dance Contest and Camp Staff member.
 
Cassie Ortiz - Cassie is from Waxahachie, Texas. During high school, she was a member of the award-winning Cherokee Charmers drill team and C. C. and Company pom squad for three years. Junior year she was selected to serve as Lieutenant Officer and was blessed with the opportunity to serve as Captain her senior year. She graduated from WHS as a Texas Scholar in 2002. Following graduation, Cassie became a TVCC Cardette where she was selected to serve as Freshman Representative and a member of the Cardette Pom Squad both years. Cassie was also voted as Outstanding Pom Girl as well as involved in the TVCC student senate, a two year participant of the Cardinal Beauty pageant, and named Cardinal Beauty finalist her freshman year.  She is a graduate form TVCC currently serves as the choreographer and director of the Ennis High School Lionettes drill team since 2010. During the year, she also serves on staff as the Social Officer Camp Director and contest staff member with Showtime International. She is an active member in the Cardette Connection program. Last but not least and most importantly, Cassie is a proud momma of two. Future Cardette Hopefuls, daughters, Cidney, age 9 and Cadynce, age 7.
 
Nikki Stringer - Nikki is from Lampasas, TX where she is a graduate from Lampasas High School. Nikki has been dancing for 18 years and has studied various forms of dance. While at LHS, Nikki was a member of the Flames Drill Team. At TVCC, she was a member of Student Senate and Cardette Showgirls. She was also a Cardette of the Week, Cardette of the Year, Cardette Freshman Representative, and Cardette Captain. She was also selected as runner up in the 2010 Miss Cardinal Beauty Pageant and is named Who's Who Among American Junior College Students. Nikki graduated from the University of North Texas with honors and received her BA in Dance. While at UNT, Nikki was a part of the Phi Kappa Phi
Honors College, Chi Tau Epsilon Dance Honor Society and has performed in festivals such as the American College Dance Festival Association. Nikki is now the Director of Dance at East Texas Twisters Gymnastics, a 200 hour Registered Yoga Instructor, and is teaching both dance and yoga. This is Nikki’s 6th year as a DYHOC staff member.
 
Monyca Warren - Monyca is from Athens, TX and has been dancing for for over 15 years. At TVCC, Monyca was a member of the Cardette Showgirls, Cardette of the Week and Lieutenant. She was also voted Most Outstanding Showgirl and Best Overall Dancer. After graduating from TVCC in May 2008, she transferred to the University of North Texas to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a minor in Secondary Education and Chemistry. She was a three year member of the North Texas Dancers and was North Texas Dancers Director's Assistant from 2011-2012. Monyca also danced in the Superbowl 45 halftime show with the Black Eyed Peas and also made it to training camp for the Dallas Mavericks Dancers . This is her 8th year serving as a DYHOC staff member. 
 
SEMINAR PRESENTORS:
Victoria Corley:  Victoria is a graduate of Van High School in Van, TX where she was Captain of the Van Dazzlers, danced at Candy Crocker School of Dance for 10 years and is also an accomplished cheerleader and twirler.  While in high school she was also crowned Miss Van Oil Queen and runner up for Miss Van Zandt County.  After graduating from high school in the top 25% of her class, Victoria became a TVCC Cardette from 2012-2014.  While a Cardette, Victoria was a 2 year Cardette of the Week, 2 year Cardette Showgirl and recipient of the Cardette Lift and Showmanship awards.  After graduating from TVCC with her Associates in Liberal Arts degree May 2014, Victoria is currently perusing a degree in English at Baylor University where she is a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and recently had the honor of interning for Texas Governor Gregg Abbot on his race to lead our great state!
 
Kimberely McMillon –  Kimberely is  former ’92-’94 Cardette Captain, Freshman Representative, and Cardette Pom Squad member.  While a TVCC Cardette, Kimberely traveled and performed in Moscow, Russia and in the Orange Bowl.  She is also a veteran DYHO staff member and has the privilege of working with dance teams on leadership and tem building skills. Kimberely is the founding Director of the Hardin Simmons University Spurs Dance Team which she directed and choreographed for 15 years. At HSU, she was privileged to travel and perform in France and Spain.  Kimberley is also a Senior Staff member for Showtime International Dance Camps and Contests.  She is currently a dance instructor at Abilene Performing Arts Company and a director for the competitive dance team FUSION. Kimberely is a former Minister of Childhood Education which leads mission teams to the rural villages of Romania and is currently teaching high school English.  Most importantly she is a wife and wonderful mother of three!
 
Markesha Tisby – Markesha is a former graduate of Westwood High School in Palestine where she was a four year member of the Pantherette Drill Team and served as Co-Captain for two years.  At TVCC, Markesha was a member of Student Senate, Phi Theta Kappa, Cardette Showgirls, Cardette teen dance class director/instructor, Cardette Jean Bell Award recipient, member of Who's Who Among Junior College Students, and TVCC President's List.  Markesha traveled and performed in Branson, Missouri; Norfolk, Virginia and the Mediterranean with the Cardettes. After graduating from TVCC in 2006, Markesha transferred to Tarleton State University where she was a member of the Texan Stars Dance Team.  She graduated from UT-Tyler, where she was a member of the Pom Squad, with an education degree. She taught 1st grade for Palestine ISD as well was directed the Palestine High School Kik-Kats Drill Team. She is currently the lead kindergarten teacher at Effie Morris Elementary where she was selected as the 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year. This is Markesha's 8th year working as a DYHOC staff member; she has served as Assistant Cardette Director, Freshman Mini-camp instructor, Cardette Connection member and continues to be active in many Cardette endeavors.
