Academic & Workforce Advising
The Academic Advising Center provides excellence in advising while building relationships with students and supporting them in achieving their academic goals. The advising staff is committed to creating a supportive, student-friendly atmosphere; to encouraging students to set academic and career goals; to empower students to reach their goals; and to provide individual academic guidance through quality advisement while maintaining confidentiality and honoring the dignity and potential of each student.
All students new to TVCC must visit with an Academic Advisor prior to their first registration. This meeting may serve as a dual purpose of establishing your degree plan pathway, in addition to your first registration. It is vital to our students' success that we discuss degree plans, career goals, and your academic needs prior to enrollment in courses. There are advisors available on each campus Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m during the Spring and Fall semesters; Summer semester hours are Monday - Thursday from 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Contact your nearest Advisement Center for an appointment, or walk-in anytime. Be aware that during heavy registration times, appointments will not be available; these periods are walk-in first come first serve.
What does the Advisement Center do exactly? The Advisement Center is here to:
- Help you reach your academic and career goals
- Navigate your degree or certificate pathway for completion
- Register for classes
- Provide guidance throughout and between semesters
- Assist with transferring
