Peer Tutor Requirements

You can apply for Student Support Services Peer Tutor status if ...

...you are currently enrolled in TVCC

...you are currently carrying at least 6 semester hours.

...you have been a student at TVCC for at least one semester prior to applying for tutor status.

...are carrying at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.

...you are NOT on scholastic probation or suspension.

...you possess the discipline to keep scheduled appointments.

...you have an 'A' or a 'B' on your transcript for a class you want a tutor.

...in addition to the transcript grade of 'A' or 'B', you feel you have mastery of the subject matter.

...you feel you have the patience, focus, and desire to articulate the subject area to another student.

NOTE:  If you are a returning adult student with a previous college or university history; or if you are specifically recommended by an instructor, exceptions to the above requirements can be made upon appropriate documentation.
