Student Learning Outcomes Workshops
The Dean of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness has scheduled two workshops on Student Learning in April 2005. The workshop details are listed below:

These workshops are designed to allow Faculty, Instructional Deans, and Division Chairs to develop a collective understanding of student learning outcomes. Specifically we will:
· Define student learning outcomes.
· Discuss ways that we can approach writing learning outcomes
· Discuss how we will report learning outcomes for institutional effectiveness purposes
· Discuss the possible methods that could be utilized to assess student learning outcomes
· Discuss levels that we should seek to assess learning outcomes (course, program, institutional)
· Discuss timeline for developing Student Learning Outcomes for AY 2005-06 (due date July 15, 2005)
These meetings are open to all faculty and others that are interested in attending; however, all Instructional Deans and Division Chairs are asked to attend these meetings. If a person plans on attending, they need to email Institutional Research Associate, Tina Rummel, at trummel@tvcc.edu. This will help us to know how many copies of handouts to make, and will help me to ensure that we will have enough space to handle the meeting.
Please come prepared to discuss learning outcomes that you have worked to develop in your particular area.
