Cardinals romp to 117-52 win in home opener

The Cardinals were in top offensive form in their home opener.
The Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals turned the full fury of their offense loose on Team Elevate in their home opener Wednesday night at Cardinal Gym, rolling to an easy 117-52 win to stay unbeaten at 2-0.
Sophomore Chris Blake pumped in 21 points to lead six Cardinals in double-digit scoring.
Joining Blake in twin figures were Ernest “Stretch” Watson with 18, Xavier Williams 15, Keandre Derrick 14, Isaiah Rusher 12 and Adrian Forbes 11. Reggie Stallings finished with eight.
Fourth-year coach Pat Smith’s squad ran out to a 62-21 halftime lead and never looked back.
The Cardinals are scheduled to be at home again Sunday against El Centro Community College. Game time is 4 p.m.
