dallas fun run for dandy-walker syndrome
Davina Smith

This Saturday, May 26, I will be participating in the Dallas Fun Run for Dandy Walker.  We are running (for me, thats fast-walking!) to raise awareness and support for the Dandy Walker Alliance.

The Dallas Fun Run for Dandy-Walker is a fundraiser to raise awareness and benefit the non-profit Dandy-Walker Alliance 501(c)(3).  Walkers, runners, strollers, spectators and more; everyone is welcome to join us at the Fun Run!  We will be holding a 5K & Jamboree on Saturday, May 26th, 2012 from 7 am to 12 pm at Bachman Lake Trail.  Come join us for a morning of fun filled with the 5k, Johnny Rockit as Elvis, food, awards, raffle, games, facepainting, balloon animals, vendor shopping, inspiring people and more!

In honor of all those who have Dandy-Walker Syndrome and those that have lost their lives due to Dandy-Walker, we are dedicated in helping the Dandy Walker Alliance raise awareness for this syndrome,  provide general information, educational materials and support to anyone affected by or interested in Dandy-Walker Syndrome, support legislation that will help expedite our goals, and raise money to support research efforts to find causes, better treatment options and a cure for Dandy-Walker.

For information about the disease, go to http://www.dandy-walker.org/blog/dw-basics/

Professional Tutoring
Iris Reeves

Faculty and Staff, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Our professional tutoring program was very successful

this semester thanks to you volunteering your services. We

had less volunteers this semester (19 total), but increased the

number of courses offered from 27 to 35.

We will be open summer I and II with the SSC staff

offering limited tutoring. We will also refer students to CAPS

for peer tutoring. The SSC and CAPS hours of operation will

be: Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM 4:30 PM

Have a great summer break but expect to hear from me

again the first week of classes in the fall. We still have more

empty tutoring slots than professional tutors to fill them.  Hint,

Hint

Thank you,

IRIS
