TVCC Wireless Internet Access Terms of Service Agreement

Acceptance of the TVCC Wireless Internet Access Terms of Service Agreement by clicking on "I accept the terms of service agreement", you represent that: (1) you have read, understood and agreed to the terms of this agreement; and (2) you are at least 18 years of age. If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, you may not use the TVWireless System. Your electronic acceptance of the Agreement by clicking on "Accept & Connect" on the sign-up page has the same effect as if you had actually signed the Agreement. The effective date of this Agreement is the date that you click on this button.

Terms and Conditions

1) Trinity Valley Community College is providing you access to our wireless LAN as a complimentary service for your convenience while you are at TVCC. You acknowledge that (i) the wireless LAN service provides unencrypted wireless access to the Internet, and agree you are responsible for the security of your system and any transmissions you make or receive; and (ii) that you understand the risks of unencrypted access to the Internet, and will take any necessary security precautions, including encrypting confidential transmissions, backing up any data and protecting your system with a firewall and robust user authentication.

2) You agree that your activities on the wireless LAN shall not:

a) Introduce any viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancel bots, other computer programming routines that may damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information.

b) Transmit any material (by uploading, posting, emailing or otherwise) that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, offensive, pornographic, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;

c) Harm, or attempt to harm, minors in any way;

d) Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity; forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any material transmitted through the TVWireless System;

e) Transmit (by uploading, posting, emailing or otherwise) any material that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party;

f) Transmit (by uploading, posting, emailing or otherwise) any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes" or any other form of solicitation;

g) Transmit (by uploading, posting, emailing or otherwise) any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment;

h) Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies or regulations of networks connected to the Service. This includes, but is not limited to denial of service attacks, web page defacement, port and network scanning, and unauthorized system penetrations.

i) Intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law, or any regulations having the force of law;

j) "Stalk" or otherwise harass another; or collect or store, or attempt to collect or store, personal data about third parties without their knowledge or consent;

k) Resell the TVWireless System without Trinity Valley Community College's written authorization;

l) Use the TVWireless System for high volume data transfers, especially sustained high volume data transfers, hosting a web server, IRC server, or any other server.

m) violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation (including, but not limited to, those governing export control consumer protection, unfair competition, antidiscrimination or false advertising);

3) AS A COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE, THIS WIRELESS LAN IS PROVIDED “AS-IS” AND “WHERE-IS,” WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
