VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE: Intercollegiate Athletic Director

LOCATION:  Athens Campus                                        

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Open until filled.              

SALARY:  $54,583-$81,874 + phone and travel allowance.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree required, Five (5) years experience as athletic director or senior administrator in intercollegiate athletics preferred.

DUTIES:  Supervise coaches, trainers and support staff involved in intercollegiate athletics.  Provide general oversight for budgets in each area of intercollegiate athletics.  Approve the purchase of all athletic equipment and supplies and requests for reimbursement.  Coordinate the development of schedules for all athletic events.  Secure and schedule appropriate personnel (clock keeper, announcer, ticket salesperson, ushers, score keepers, referees, umpires, security etc.) for all athletic events.  Coordinate with fiscal services to provide controls on ticket sales and other cash receipts.  Interview and recommend personnel in related department s for employment.

Coordinate with alumni, public relations, TVCC Foundation and others to raise funds for intercollegiate athletics.  Oversee the TVCC Hall of Fame.  Represent the college at intercollegiate meetings.  Make recommendations for improvements of athletic facilities and equipment.  Serve as Division Chair for Health and Kinesiology.  Coordinate UIL athletic events on the TVCC campus. Schedule and approved events for TVCC athletic facilities.  Approve athletic vehicle usage and travel requests.  Budgetary responsibilities for reporting departments.

Perform all other job duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Within the general range of an athletic environment and be exposed to external environmental factors.  Must be able to lift 50lbs with frequent walking, running sitting, stooping, bending and climbing.
