Adjusting to College

 

Welcome to Trinity Valley Community College. This should be one of the most exciting times of your life. Your first year in college is a major transition full of changes that may seem overwhelming at times.

Attending college may be a new experience for you. It should be a wonderful time to learn about yourself and set goals for the future.

Here are a few special tips on how to adjust to college life:

  1. Go to class.
  2. Read your assignments.
  3. Budget your time wisely. Use your family or other support system to help you identify areas you may have to change or adjust.

  5. Turn in assignments on time.
  6. Get plenty of rest.
  7. Seek help.
  8. Plan for the future.
  9. Always be prepared for class.

  11. Learn your teachers’ names. They will be invaluable to you as you pursue your education.
  12. Get familiar with rules, regulations, policies, and know what role the administrative offices play.

Make the most of your college years. They will go by extremely fast. Keep a positive attitude, have fun, and good luck with your future plans.
