Exemptions and Waivers

Certain students are exempt from paying tuition and some of the required fees by state law.  Specific eligibility requirements are available on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s website. Click below to link to the College for Texans site.

The exemption available for firefighters enrolled in Fire Science classes requires an additional TVCC form. Information on this exemption can also be found on the "College for Texans" web site. Click below for the Fire Science Exemption Form.

To be awarded Hazlewood Exemption at TVCC, you must complete a Hazlewood Application and Residency Form with the Veterans Office.
