I teach mathematics on the Athens
campus of TVCC. I have now been teaching at TVCC as a full time
instructor for 4 years, but before I became a full time
instructor, I taught as a part-time instructor for 10 years in
the math department. While I was teaching part-time, I
taught full-time at local high schools. I taught at
Fruitvale High School, Murchison ISD, and Martin's Mill High
School. While teaching at the high schools in addition to
teaching math, I also taught journalism as well as coached One
Act Play. I
received my Masters of Science in Math/Education from Texas A&M
Commerce and my Bachelors of Science in
Math/Journalism/Education from Texas A&M Commerce. I
graduated High School from Athens High School.
My teaching philosophy is simple
- everyone can learn, but everyone learns differently.
Learning is a joint effort between the student and the
instructor - the student must take personal responsibility for
their learning. I will help in any way I can to make your
learning process meaningful.
On a personal note, my wife,
Kristin, teaches math on the Terrell campus of TVCC and we live
in Canton.
My office in located in the Math Journalism building (106B),
please stop by with any questions.
