This course requires the purchase of an access code, which can be done at www.coursecompass.com. You will need the course id number, which is self97024 to complete your registration.  Simply follow the instruction onscreen, paying particular attention the the username and password you create.  The program is extremely interactive, so your first assignment is to complete the tours which will be listed on your welcome page.  Also please pay special attention to the section about how to enter your answers.  The entire online textbook is included with the access code.

The course requires you to do most of the work and learning on your own, but feel free to email questions to me.  I will try to help, given the limitations of trying to do math by email.

Good luck, and have a great semester.

Exams:  Five 100 point tests (including a comprehensive final exam), approximately evenly spaced throughout the semester will be given. There are no makeup tests for any reason! The comprehensive final exam may count twice, replacing the lowest previous test score as well as counting in its own right.  (The final exam grade may not replace the homework grade as described below.)  You will take the test on the computer, showing all work on your own paper.  This paper work will then be sent to me by your proctor for partial credit to be assessed. I will then update your grade on course compass if there are any changes.

Homework:    Homework will be assigned for most class meetings and will be accepted for full credit at any time on the due date (these will be assigned every Tuesday and Thursday.  The lowest homework score will be dropped before a percent correct is calculated. This homework percent will then count as a test grade in the final average. Be aware that you should print your HW and show your work.  This is extremely important to your learning process.  Be sure to begin the assignment when you print, or the values will be different when you return.

If you want to drop this course, it will be your responsibility to do so.
